May: Hey guys and welcome to WeSpeak, your number one Yasashii English podcast in Fukuoka today. Kuba is here with me for some one on one chatting. Grab a drink, settle in because we've got a lot to go through. Hi.
Kuba: Oh, hi. Hi.
May: Welcome.
Kuba: Thank you.
May: This is your first time here, right?
Kuba: That's right. My first time here.
May: Can we get a small introduction, then?
Kuba: Yes. Of course. So my name is Kuban. I'm from Czech and I've been living in Japan since 2020.
May: Oh wow. So that's been a how many years?
Kuba: Almost six years.
May: Wow. What brought you to Japan?
Kuba: Um, my wife is Japanese and we decided to live here.
May: I see. Where else did you live in Japan?
Kuba: Only here. Only here only in Fukuoka. I visited other places. Tokyo, Osaka, Hokkaido, but living only in Fukuoka since then.
May: Which do you like better, Tokyo or Osaka?
Kuba: Um, probably Osaka is better for me.
May: I see. And what about between Fukuoka and Osaka?
Kuba: Um. I will take Fukuoka over Osaka.
May: Really? Why do you like Fukuoka?
Kuba: I think Fukuoka is really good city. Um. Good size. Has a nature all around and very, very delicious food.
May: Oh. What's your favorite food?
Kuba: Oh, i have many. Um, yakiniku is really good. Ramen sushi.
May: Ah. So between Japanese food and Czech food, which one do you like more?
Kuba: I would like to get Japanese food over Czech. Yes.
May: Oh. Okay. Between yakiniku and sushi.
Kuba: I will take yakiniku.
May: Hey, you like meat, huh?
Kuba: Yes, I do, I do. Meat is.
May: Better. So, between meat and fish.
Kuba: Always meat. I'll get meat.
May: Red meat or white meat?
Kuba: I'll take a red meat.
May: Mhm. That's good beef.
Kuba: Beef is really good.
May: Yeah.
Kuba: So especially here in Japan. The Wagyu.
May: Yeah.
Kuba: So good, so good. What about you? What do you like, fish or meat?
May: I like, um, I like meat more, but if I had to pick fish, I. I'll take salmon.
Kuba: Okay. It's about me, but same as me. Salmon or tuna are my favorite.
May: Yeah, those are good. So actually, listeners, you've been listening to requesting an item as our theme for today.
So between this and this, which one would you like? I'm going to throw another question at you. Are you ready?
Kuba: Yeah. I'm ready.
May: Czech or Japan?
Kuba: Oh, that's a difficult question.
But, um, I choose to live here, so I will take Japan. Oh.
May: Is it because your wife is here?
Kuba: Oh, yeah. That's one of the biggest and the main reason, of course.
May: What if your wife goes to check with you?
Kuba: Ah, yeah, of course we will go together. Yeah, but, um, I feel Japan.
It's a nice place to live. In general, in terms of safety and many, many other things. Whether it's better here.
May: Even with, uh, the rainy season and tsunamis and.
Kuba: Yes.
May: Still.
Kuba: Still the rainy season is good. Only the really, really hot and humid summer is not my favorite, but, uh, winter in chicks are not so nice.
Gloomy. Dark. Rainy. Windy Cold.
May: So what about summers in Japan or winters in check?
Kuba: Oh, that's a tough one. Good question. Um, yeah, I would still rather pick the summer in Japan. May: Oh, really?
Kuba: Um, the hot is good in some way. You are. You get sweaty.
Yes, but, uh, it's, uh, it's better than feeling cold and catch a cold and. Yeah. So what about you? What do you prefer, hot days or cold days?
May: I prefer cold days.
May: I miss the Canadian winter, to be honest.
I feel like I prefer I take the, uh, Canadian winter over Japanese summer and any day. Yeah.
Well, that's all the time we have for today. Thank you so much for talking with me today.
Kuba: Yeah, I thank you too. And see you next time.
May: See you next time.
